Read chat aloud
Turn on text-to-speech for incoming chat and alerts, filter what gets read, and pick a voice.
Vfinity can speak incoming chat messages and alerts. Microsoft Edge voices work out of the box with no account and no key. Five paid providers are available if you want a specific voice.
Turn on Chat TTS
Find Chat TTS in the Overlay tab's interaction category and switch it on.
Pick a provider and a voice
Provider defaults to the Edge voices, which need nothing set up.
For ElevenLabs, Speechify, Murf, Cartesia or Fish Audio, paste your API key first, then refresh the voice list. Without a key the list stays empty and nothing is spoken.
Use the search box to filter voices, and Test to hear one before you commit.
Set the volume and speed
Volume and Speed are per-provider. Some providers do not support speed changes and say so when you select them.
Filter what gets read
A stream that reads every message becomes noise. The filters that matter:
- Read the sender's name speaks "name says message" rather than the bare text
- Skip ! and / commands keeps bot commands out of the queue
- Skip emoji-only messages
- Max characters truncates long messages
- Muted users takes a list of usernames to ignore entirely

Read alerts aloud speaks gift, follow, share and like alerts using the same voice, from message templates you set per event type.
Paid providers bill the characters spoken for alerts as well as for chat. On a busy stream alerts can outnumber the chat messages.
The queue
Messages are spoken one at a time through a queue. Show in the action queue puts it in the floating queue viewer, where you can see what is waiting, Skip the current message, or Clear the whole queue.
That skip button is the one to have on hand when someone posts a wall of text.
If nothing is spoken
- A paid provider with no key or no voice. Vfinity says so directly: text-to-speech is on, but the provider still needs its API key and voice.
- The provider rejected the key. Check it and refresh the voice list.
- The voice list will not load. Check your internet connection. Paid providers fetch their voice lists over the network.
- Everything is filtered out. Check the muted list and the emoji and command filters.
