Use a connector you already run
Point Vfinity at TikFinity or another TikTok connector instead of running its own bridge.
Vfinity ships a bridge that connects to TikTok itself. If you already run TikFinity or a similar connector, you can have Vfinity read events from that instead, so only one program is talking to TikTok.
When to use this
- You already run TikFinity and want its connection to be the only one.
- You have written your own connector and want Vfinity to consume it.
- The built-in bridge will not connect on your network but another tool does.
Otherwise use the built-in bridge. It needs no other software running.
Disconnect first
Vfinity will not let you change the connection type while it is connected. Disconnect the TikTok LIVE card first.
Switch the connection type
In SettingsConnections, on the TikTok LIVE card, set Connection Type to Custom WebSocket (TikFinity or other).
Custom mode does not start the built-in bridge. Vfinity connects to a connector you are already running, and if that connector is not running, nothing arrives.
Point it at the connector
Set WebSocket Host and WebSocket Port. The defaults are localhost and 21213, which is where TikFinity listens.
Connect
Click Connect to LIVE. The TIK pill turns green when the connector accepts the socket.
What changes
Nothing downstream. Event mappings, throwing and the overlay widgets all behave identically; only the source of the events is different.
What the connector forwards is up to the connector. If it does not send shares, Vfinity has no shares to react to.
Switching back
Disconnect, set Connection Type back to Built-in bridge (Vfinity), enter your username, and connect again. Your username is remembered separately from the custom host and port, so switching back and forth does not lose either.
