Is it free?
Yes. No account, no subscription, no paid tier. The only thing you might pay for is a text-to-speech provider, and only if you pick one over the free Microsoft Edge voices.
Which platforms does it run on?
Windows, macOS on both Apple Silicon and Intel, and Linux as an AppImage, .deb or .rpm. See Install Vfinity.
Do I need VTube Studio?
For any model reaction, yes. Vfinity drives VTube Studio through its plugin API; it does not animate anything itself.
The overlay widgets and text-to-speech work without it.
Does it work with other avatar software?
No. Vfinity speaks the VTube Studio plugin API specifically. Animaze, Live2D Cubism and the rest are not supported.
Does it work with Twitch or YouTube?
No. The event side is TikTok LIVE only.
The trigger API is a way around this if you can write code: anything that can serve a WebSocket can fire Vfinity events, whatever the source.
Do I need to give it my TikTok password?
No, and there is no field to type one into. Reading a public LIVE room does not require signing in. See Privacy and safety.
Can I use it on a monetised stream?
Yes. No licence fee, no revenue share.
Why does Windows warn me about it?
Vfinity is not code-signed, and SmartScreen flags unsigned installers. Click More info, then Run anyway. macOS wants a right-click and Open for the same reason.
Does it collect data about me?
No. There is no account and no telemetry. Three things go out over the network: the TikTok connection, the gift catalog fetch, and text-to-speech requests if you chose a paid provider.
Does it need to stay open?
Yes. The overlay server is part of the app, so closing Vfinity takes every OBS browser source with it.
Will I lose my settings when I update?
No. Install the new version over the old one and everything stays. Export a backup first if you want to be sure. See Back up and restore.
Why is my model not reacting when I can see the gift arrive?
Check Triggers Fired on the Dashboard. If it moved, the rule matched and the problem is on the VTube Studio side. If it did not, the rule did not match. Troubleshooting splits it out.
Why does nothing throw?
Read the Needs attention panel at the top of the Throwing tab. It lists every reason and offers a one-click fix for each.
The usual culprit is Minimum diamonds to throw left above zero, which blocks gift mappings as well as auto-thrown gifts.
Can I run two of the same overlay widget?
Yes, for the widget families that take an id: goals, counters, stat labels, leaderboards, feeds, effects, media and frames. Each copy has its own card and its own URL. See Overlay widgets.
Can I change how it looks?
Yes, down to individual colours, fonts, corner radii and shadows. Three themes ship with it, and the theme studio edits about ninety tokens. See Change how Vfinity looks.
What languages does it support?
English, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Hindi and Spanish. The app picks your system language on first run. Overlay widgets take their language from their URL, so they can differ from the app.

Who makes it?
Zyphite. Vfinity is closed source, and the only official download is the itch.io project page.

Where do I report a problem?
In the Discord server. Include your operating system, the version from the title bar, and anything the debug console says. You can open the same invite from the changelog in the app.
