Show Throws on Your Stream (OBS)

Add the Vfinity overlay to OBS so your viewers can see gifts flying on your stream.

You have set up gift throwing and it looks awesome in Vfinity. But your viewers on TikTok cannot see it yet! You need to add the Vfinity overlay to your streaming software. Most people use OBS, so let us set that up.

What is OBS?

OBS stands for Open Broadcaster Software. It is a free program that lets you stream to TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms. If you are already streaming, you probably have it installed.

What is an overlay?

An overlay is a transparent layer that sits on top of your stream. Vfinity has a special overlay that shows the gift throwing physics. When you add it to OBS, your viewers will see the gifts flying and bouncing.

Step 1: Find the overlay URL in Vfinity

  1. Open Vfinity
  2. Look for "OBS Overlay" or "Overlay URL" somewhere in the app
  3. You should see a web address that looks like http://localhost:something
  4. Copy this URL

Step 2: Open OBS

  1. Open OBS Studio on your computer
  2. Go to the scene where you have your VTube Studio avatar

Step 3: Add a Browser Source

  1. In the Sources box at the bottom, click the + button
  2. Pick Browser from the list
  3. A window will pop up asking for a name. Type something like "Vfinity Overlay"
  4. Click OK

Step 4: Put in the overlay URL

  1. In the Browser Source settings, find the "URL" box
  2. Paste the Vfinity overlay URL you copied earlier
  3. Set the width and height to match your stream (usually 1920 x 1080)
  4. Make sure "Shutdown source when not visible" is unchecked
  5. Click OK

Step 5: Position the overlay

  1. You should now see the Vfinity overlay in your OBS preview
  2. Move it and resize it so it lines up with your VTube Studio avatar
  3. The overlay is transparent, so you will only see the gifts when they are thrown

Step 6: Test it

  1. Start streaming or just record in OBS
  2. Have someone send you a gift on TikTok LIVE
  3. Watch the gift fly across your stream!

Tips for OBS setup

  • Make sure the overlay layer is above your VTube Studio layer in the Sources list
  • If you do not see anything, check that the URL is correct
  • If the gifts are in the wrong place, move the overlay layer around
  • You can also use this with other streaming software like Streamlabs OBS
