Connect VTube Studio
Turn on the VTube Studio plugin API, approve Vfinity once, and confirm the connection pill turns green.
VTube Studio has a plugin API that other programs use to press hotkeys and move your model. It is off by default. Vfinity talks to it over a WebSocket on port 8001, and VTube Studio asks you to approve the plugin the first time.
Before you start
VTube Studio has to be running, with a model loaded, on the same computer as Vfinity.
Turn on the plugin API in VTube Studio
In VTube Studio, open the settings panel and find Start API (allow plugins). Switch it on.
Leave the port at 8001. That is the VTube Studio default, and it is what Vfinity expects.
Open the connection settings in Vfinity
Go to SettingsConnections and find the VTube Studio API card.
The IP Address field is localhost and the Port is 8001 unless you changed them in VTube Studio. Leave them alone if you did not.
Connect
Click Connect VTS.
Approve the plugin in VTube Studio
Switch to VTube Studio. A prompt appears asking whether to allow the plugin. Click Allow.
This is the step people miss. Vfinity sits at "Connecting" until you answer that prompt, and the prompt only appears in the VTube Studio window, which may be behind your other windows or on another monitor.
VTube Studio hands back an authentication token, and Vfinity stores it so you are not asked again on the next launch. If you clear your VTube Studio plugin list, or restore Vfinity from a backup that did not include the token, you get the prompt again.
Check the light
The status on the card reads Authenticated and the VTS pill in the title bar turns green.
Green means Vfinity is connected and VTube Studio has accepted it. Amber means it is still trying. Red means it is not connected.
Test it without going live
Go to the Dashboard and find Quick Hotkey Test under Testing tools. Pick one of your VTube Studio hotkeys and fire it. Your model should react in VTube Studio.
If the hotkey list is empty, Vfinity is connected but VTube Studio has no hotkeys defined for the current model. Create one in VTube Studio first.
If it will not connect
- Nothing happens when you click Connect VTS. The API is still off in VTube Studio, or it is listening on a different port. Check both.
- It sits on "Connecting" forever. The approval prompt is waiting in the VTube Studio window. Bring it to the front.
- It connects, then drops. VTube Studio was closed or restarted. Vfinity retries on its own and the pill shows a countdown to the next attempt.
